Bright International School’s New Classrooms Earn High Praise from Students

When the Sharing Education Group acquired Bright International School in 2024, they promised transformative changes. Under a year later, that promise has become a reality.

The newly unveiled lower secondary classrooms, designed by the renowned Danish studio Rosan Bosch, have redefined what modern education spaces can achieve. The newly refurbished spaces opened this year in January, reflecting a unique approach to the education landscape in the Algarve, understanding that each student learns in their own unique way. These innovative spaces adapt to individual needs, offering a variety of learning areas. Students can choose learning spaces that suit their individual needs: collaborative work areas for teamwork, quiet pods for focused tasks, and even dynamic zones for active learners. This revolutionary design is rooted in the Sharing Education Group’s forward-thinking view.

This approach has already begun to attract families seeking a differentiated and modern education for their children. The classrooms, with their creative and flexible layouts, have quickly become a talking point among the school community. Speaking to lower secondary students, their enthusiasm for the new spaces is evident. One student shared, “It’s quieter out here where I can work better,” praising the availability of areas tailored to focus and concentration. Another student highlighted the innovative addition of stationary bikes: “I really like these bicycles; they help me exercise while I work.” These work-and-exercise bikes have proven to be a hit, seamlessly blending physical activity with productivity. The individual work pods, designed for both comfort and focus, have also received glowing feedback. “I love these pods where I can relax and work at the same time,” one student remarked, capturing the essence of the school’s commitment to adaptable learning environments. “This is how learning should be: everyone is learning in their own little bubble,” said Mr. Caston, the school’s principal, who championed the idea after seeing its success.

The concept is not new to the Sharing Education Group, which has successfully implemented it at the International Sharing School Taguspark and Madeira. Both schools have been recognised by K12 Digest as Must-Watch International Schools in Europe, and Bright International School looks poised to join this prestigious list.

Bright International School’s dedication to cutting-edge educational practices and student-centred learning is unmistakable. The school warmly welcomes prospective families for personalised tours during the week, offering a chance to experience its facilities in action. With its newly renovated classrooms, Bright is not just adapting to the future of education — it’s setting the standard.
