Henry Stanley Joins the Rotary of Marco Noontime | Clubs & Organizations

The Rotary Club of Marco Island Noontime is thrilled to welcome Henry Stanley as its newest member. Henry has an impressive and diverse background in Education, the Navy, Corporate Public Relations, Marketing, Symphony, Opera, Band, Sailing , and Leadership in both business and volunteer work to touch on a few highlights.
His Education background includes everything from Beta Honor Society, Gold Key Scholarship, English, Physics & Chemistry awards to Florida Governor of the Kiwanis Key Club, and Glee Club Gold Key, from the golf team, rifle team, tennis team and football to 2nd chair in Alabama All State Band and Student Conductor of the Army ROTC Concert Band. Henry attended Georgia Military Academy and the University of Florida where his degrees were in Advertising & PR (from the Journalism School) with Minors in Public Relations & Television Production as well as serving in Air Force ROTC.
Stanley’s Military Service included U.S.Navy Officer Candidate School, Communications Officer School, Public Information Officer School, Admiral Staff U.S. 6th Fleet, Public Information Officer- Southern Italy, Communications Officer- NAF Sigonella, Crypto Officer, Southern NATO Nuclear Communications Office- Cuban Missile crisis, and Editor Base Magazine.
Henry served as Public Relations Manager for International Paper Company, Turner Advertising, and Bachman Ferris Advertising. At Georgia- Pacific Corp he served as Product marketing manager, Corp. Creative Director, Manager – $5mil corporate ID change program, Director of Investor Relations, Annual reports publisher receiving BEST USA Annual Report twice and Gold Quill award. He received a 3rd Best USA Annual Report at The Southland Corporation while serving as VP of Investor Relations and Corporate Communications. He has served on several Boards of Major corporations as Senior VP and Chairman.
Henry is equally dedicated to his public service. With a passion for the arts, he was President of the Portland Junior Symphony , on Portland Opera Board & PR Manager, Chair of Metropolitan Arts Commission, Chair of Portland ArtQuake Festival… Stanley also served on Dallas Symphony and Theater Boards.
Another of Henry’s passions is sailing. He has served as Commodore for the Marco Island Yacht Club, the Oregon Corinthian Sailing Association and for you sailors- J-24 Fleet Captain- Portland and J-24 Class- National President and World President. Other hobbies and interests include golf, climbing, travel, wine collecting, opera, fishing…. Our Rotary family is delighted to welcome Henry and his wealth of talents and heart of gold into our family.
