There are three projects from Algarve Hotel Schools that are finalists in the Hospitality Education Awards
Two projects from the Portimão School of Hotel and Tourism and one from the Algarve School of Hotel and Tourism, in Faro, were named yesterday, July 29th, as finalists in the competition Hospitality Education Awards, promoted by the Associação Fórum Turismo.
In the case of the Portimão school, the project Blue Touch, nominated for Best Educational Project, is «an immersive educational project that aims to create a sardine preserve in a sustainable way, following a four-step path: Explore, Inform, Learn and Create».
As part of this project, school students had the opportunity to learn about the marine resources of the Barlavento Algarvio region, learn about fishing regulations and techniques, auction sales and preservation methods. The knowledge acquired here was applied to the creation of creative, innovative and sustainable sardine preserves.

Already foam, nominated for Best Innovation Project, is a project that is part of the Live Science Club of the Portimão School of Hotel and Tourism: SEA LAB Cozinhar o Mar.
This innovative project stands out for its creative and sustainable approach to education, valuing marine and endogenous resources, promoting regional development.
This project was recently awarded in the category of “Tourist Project applied to the Villages of the Barlavento Algarvio”, in the 3rd edition of ISMAT Sustainable Communities.
According to the EHTP management, the fact that these two projects are finalists reflects «the pedagogical work carried out at the School and its daily commitment to improving skills such as creativity, innovation and entrepreneurship in its students, with focus and concern constant with the sustainable growth of the region and the tourism sector».
