Uzbekistan’s Samarkand To Become Global Hub For Tourism Education With New Academy In April 2025

A new UN Tourism Academy will officially open in Samarkand, Uzbekistan, in April 2025. The academy, a collaborative initiative between the President of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, and UN Tourism, is set to foster high-quality education and human development within the tourism industry.
The certificates and diplomas awarded by the International Academy of Tourism in Samarkand will carry international recognition, thanks to the institution’s affiliation with the United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO). The academy’s curriculum adheres to global educational standards, ensuring that graduates can leverage their qualifications to pursue career opportunities across the globe.
The Samarkand International Academy of Tourism and Hospitality will offer courses in partnership with Les Roches, a prestigious Swiss institution renowned for its expertise in hospitality education. Students will gain knowledge of global tourism standards and industry best practices, with a special emphasis on sustainable tourism development.
Alongside theoretical lessons, the academy will prioritize practical training, offering internships with private-sector companies to give students real-world experience. The programs are crafted to cater to a wide range of learners, from newcomers to those with previous experience in the field.
The Samarkand International Academy of Tourism and Hospitality’s inaugural course, Hospitality Management, will run from April 21 to December 21, 2025. Conducted in English, with select content available in Russian, this course is designed for professionals in the hospitality industry. Participants can opt for the full course for $850 or choose individual modules at $120 each. International applicants must provide an application form, academic transcripts, a passport copy, and proof of language proficiency if required.
Students enrolled in the program will have access to a range of on-campus amenities, including a library, tourism research center, student dormitories, and recreational facilities.
The course consists of eight modules, each concentrating on a unique aspect of the hospitality industry. Topics include Innovative, Alternative, and Sustainable Trends in Tourism, Event Management, and Hospitality Real Estate & Investment. Through these modules, students will gain a thorough understanding of the industry and acquire practical knowledge of cutting-edge trends and best practices for the future.
