At the “TOURISE 2025” Summit in Riyadh, Sommet Education and Tanmeya Capital announced a collaboration for the Kingdom’s Vision 2030’s support about the future of hospitality and tourism education in Saudi Arabia in line with Saudi Arabia policies as a worldwide tourism and service industry leader. The 25-year partnership will provide educational and training services in Saudi Arabia’s hospitality industry and support the growing tourism industry in the country as a service industry leader, inclusive of local and foreign workforce integration.

A Vision for Saudi Arabia’s Tourism and Hospitality Growth

Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 plan has outlined tourism and hospitality as key drivers of economic diversification and growth. As part of this vision, the Kingdom has set its sights on becoming one of the world’s most sought-after travel destinations. Central to this transformation is the development of human capital in the hospitality and tourism sectors. The newly announced partnership between Sommet Education and Tanmeya Capital will play a pivotal role in achieving this ambition by addressing the need for highly skilled professionals to fill the growing demand for hospitality services across the Kingdom.

The collaboration aims to provide both Saudi and international students with the knowledge, skills, and expertise needed to succeed in a dynamic and rapidly evolving industry. By bringing world-leading institutions like Les Roches, École Ducasse, and Glion Institute of Higher Education to the Kingdom, the initiative will help position Saudi Arabia as a regional hub for education in hospitality, culinary arts, and tourism management.

The Key Components of the Partnership

Under the terms of the partnership, Tanmeya Capital will leverage its expertise in investment management to develop the Tanmeya Hospitality & Tourism Fund (THTF), a SAR600 million investment vehicle. The fund, equivalent to almost 140 million euros, is designed to support the growth of Saudi talent and infrastructure within the hospitality and tourism sectors. By focusing on human-capital development, THTF will contribute to the creation of a sustainable, high-quality workforce that meets the evolving needs of the Kingdom’s burgeoning tourism industry.

Sommet Education, with its global reputation for excellence in hospitality education, will be instrumental in developing the educational ecosystem that will train the next generation of Saudi leaders in hospitality and tourism. The partnership includes plans to establish flagship campuses in Saudi Arabia, offering specialized programs and courses tailored to the needs of the Saudi market. These institutions will offer a range of academic and vocational programs in hospitality management, culinary arts, tourism operations, and more.

Building a Skilled Workforce for Saudi Arabia’s Tourism Boom

Saudi Arabia’s hospitality and tourism sectors have been rapidly expanding, with major investments in infrastructure, luxury hotels, and leisure destinations. The Kingdom’s government has also been working to make it easier for international tourists to visit, implementing initiatives like the introduction of a new tourist visa. As the number of visitors grows, so does the demand for a highly skilled workforce to provide world-class service across all sectors of the tourism and hospitality industries.

The education and training programs that will be offered through this partnership are designed to address this gap. By establishing campuses in Saudi Arabia, the collaboration will not only provide education and skills training but also create sustainable employment opportunities for both local residents and international professionals. Graduates will be prepared to take on leadership roles in the tourism industry, from hotel management to culinary arts and event planning.

A Major Step Towards Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 Goals

This partnership represents a significant step forward in the Kingdom’s efforts to build a knowledge-based economy and enhance its competitiveness on the global stage. The Saudi government has placed a strong emphasis on developing human capital as part of its Vision 2030 reform plan, and the collaboration between Sommet Education and Tanmeya Capital is a clear demonstration of how public-private partnerships can be leveraged to drive meaningful social and economic change.

The education and training initiatives introduced by this partnership will contribute directly to the development of Saudi Arabia’s tourism and hospitality sectors, which are poised for substantial growth in the coming years. The focus on equipping the next generation of leaders with the necessary skills will help ensure that Saudi Arabia is well-positioned to meet the demands of a global tourism market that is increasingly competitive.

Expanding the Role of Education in Saudi Arabia’s Tourism Strategy

As part of this innovative collaboration, the partnership will also focus on the creation of new educational campuses, such as the potential Jeddah campus in collaboration with King Abdulaziz University’s investment arm, Wadi Jeddah Company. This initiative will further solidify Saudi Arabia’s commitment to providing high-quality education in tourism and hospitality, which will help elevate the Kingdom’s status as a global center for these industries.

The development of specialized training programs in culinary arts, hospitality management, and tourism operations will be tailored to the evolving needs of both local and international students. With the rapid growth of tourism in Saudi Arabia, the country requires a strong pool of talent to ensure the quality of service and customer satisfaction across a wide range of hospitality establishments, from luxury hotels to event venues and cultural attractions.

Creating Sustainable Employment and Economic Opportunities

One of the key objectives of the Saudi-Swiss partnership is to create sustainable employment opportunities for Saudi nationals and international professionals alike. By providing world-class education and skills training, this initiative will empower graduates to enter the workforce with the expertise needed to excel in the hospitality and tourism sectors. In turn, this will help reduce the reliance on foreign labor while fostering the growth of local talent and leadership within the Kingdom’s tourism industry.

Additionally, the establishment of high-quality training programs will help attract international students to Saudi Arabia, further contributing to the Kingdom’s vision of becoming an education hub in the region. This will not only strengthen Saudi Arabia’s position as a destination for world-class education but also provide students with valuable international exposure.

The Future of Saudi Arabia’s Hospitality and Tourism Sectors

While Saudi Arabia works toward being a top global tourism destination, along with diversifying its economy, the Sommet Education – Tanmeya Capital joint venture will guide the Saudi Arabia’s tourism & hospitality education domains. This collaboration, focused on education, skill training and employment, constitutes a fundamental progress on the education and employment pillar of the Saudi Arabia tourism industry’s future.

With this new partnership, the Saudi Arabia will be able to meet the rising needs of the global tourism industry and set the bar high for hospitality and service excellence. Saudi Arabia will be able to seamlessly integrate world-class education with its tourism and hospitality sectors. The Kingdom will be able to serve global hospitality and tourism, while educating the future.
